隕石墜俄逾千二人傷　科學家：隕石重7千噸

    俄羅斯西部隕石墜落傷者已經增加到1200人。

    美國太空總署估計，隕石只有巴士的體積，但重量估計達到約7千噸，爆炸威力等於20枚原子彈。

    科學家形容，這是百多年多最大的隕石，而幸運的是，大氣層吸收大部分能量。

    在隕石爆炸後數小時，一顆寬超過45公尺體積相當於標準泳池的小行星，在距離地球約2萬7千多公里的上空掠過，這是有紀錄以來這類體積的星體最接近地球的一次。

    多國科學家都說，小行星在南半球掠過，俄羅斯則位於北半球，兩樁事件純屬巧合。

    太空總署稱，短時間內連續發生天文事件非常罕見，具有歷史意義。
